Clutch Set-up for 4speed

Is there an easy way to know if you have your clutch pedal travel set up correctly ie; should pedal engage 2" from floor or some such reference?..or do you just do it by 'feel'...thx

set it as high as possible , you need 1" play at the top of the travel , 1/2 " minimum just to keep the throw out brg from running constantly

How do you adjust this?
Is it just the rod/nut which conects to the clutch fork?
My clutch fork can be moved in and out by hand, which tells me that the bearing is not touching the pressure plate
Is this right

it is adjusted with the length of the threaded rod into the release fork
the release brg clips onto the fork so it could be disconnected , the fork could be wrong or the pivot inside the belhousing coul dbe mismatched to the fork
