I just found out another possible meaning to what "special handling" means.
NEW -From time to time, there are manufacturing representatives that go out to evaluate cars/check for tolerances. Plant managers could/would spec these cars on the day that there could be an inspection, making sure that the cars had good panel allignment and better fit and finish than your average run-of-the-mill production line. In other words, it could have been a way to flag a car that would have been up for scrutiny.
*Special handling car can also be a designated floor model- if the dealer needed a floor model for display.
*Special handling can also be a model designated for ad work or photography. This also gets into the special paint category.
*Special handling can also mean that it was a promo car - essentially a test vehicle for the press, designated for the show circuit.
Some of this is just conjecture. As always, I want to know the truth. If my theory is wrong, I would love to hear what went on. I know that there is some weird Mopar logic, but no one knows how to red theose damn heiroglyphics...
