Dash Mounted 4-Speed Reverse Light?
« on: June 11, 2007 - 01:00:44 PM »

Hey guys, I'll be putting a Keisler manual kit into my 71 Cuda and I'm not sure if my car came with a Dash Mounted 4-Speed Reverse Light? Was it an option or do all 4-Speed cars come with one? If so, where does it mount in/on the dash and does anyone have a few clear photos of one located in it's correct position?

As always,
Thanks

Here are some shots from my dash.  They are taken from the ash try opening, and down from the pad.  If you need more details, let me know.

Thanks guys and thanks for the photos ksierens! If you could, are you able to show a photo from back a little further so I can gage exactly where in the overall picture of things it is, they are good photos though, thanks!

Thanks mate, that's what I needed!  :2thumbs:

So, do all dash pad frames have the provisions or the hole already there or did they only cut/stamp out the 4-speed equipped cars? Just curious as I'll be looking for a new dash pad but, I haven't seen any before that were for specific trans equipped cars, eg: "4-Speed dash" or "automatic dash"  :dunno: I have saved the photos thanks.

Dang it! :banghead: Oh well, looks like some cutting is on the cards or a 4 speed core, good to know though.

Thanks Neil & ksierens.

The light was in a different position in '71 than it was in '70.

Pictured above is another '70 dash, in fact it is my dash.  '71 was more centered, as they seat belt option/light wasn't available in '71.

Gotcha.

At least w/the above picture(s), you have the vertical measurements and the hole diameter.  Side-to-side measurements easy; put it smack in the middle!
