For me, I'd pick Carlisle.  I live close to the Nat's, so that's the one I go to, but Carlisle is my pick.

If you plan on drag racing, go to the Nats.

If you are going for the best mopar show on earth, go to Carlisle.

The best show is Carlisle.....

unfortunately I will miss it this year, so I will be returning to The Nationals for second best.

I've never been to Carlisle but love the drag racing and have been to the Mopar Nats. every year since 1985. If it was not a 13 hour trip I would love to go check out Carlisle and may end up going this year as 2 other friends are are wanting to make the trip out. I have always had a great time at the Nats. and would be feeling down if I could not go. I look forward to it every year and hate for the 3 days to go by so fast.

We have been to the Nats and we enjoyed it.  However, since the guy that runs the Nats tried to cheat my husband out of winning the 360 crate engine for 2005 we will not go to the Nats again.  We have always heard very good things about Carlisle in fact we have never heard anything bad about Carlisle.  We have never been to Carlisle because it is a very long trip for us but this year we will be going.  We look forward to meeting all of you there.

Definitely Carlisle. Much better organized, the only drawback is no track on site. Soon it will eclipse the Nats in size as well, if it hasn't already.

It's bigger than any Nats. I've been to. Personally although it would require a longer drive the old Nats. in Indy was more pleasant in many ways. Personally the only highlight of National Trails is the drag racing. It's only like 90 mile away for me and I was just there a couple weeks ago for a AMCA race. The ownership of National Trails however sure needs to do some major investing. For drag racing it's adaquate, but to see hemi cuds and winged cars parked in mud straw and dust when the weather dosen't coperate is insane !

C A R L I S L E , the absolute best car show east of the Mississippi (never been to a show west), beleieve me it's worth your time, money, and distance to attend Carlisle Mopar show.  :2thumbs:

Katfish,
Last year we just happened to be reading one of our Mopar Muscle magazines and saw my husbands name as the winner of the 2005 360 crate engine they give away at the Nats.  We were shocked to see his name because nobody at the Nats had tried to contact us to let us know he had won.  We called the guy in charge of the Nats but of course he would not get back with us.  Finally we got a hold of him and he said they had changed the rules in 2002 that you had to be present to win the engine.  Well we informed him that on his website it clearly stated you did not have to be present to win and in 2006 it still said that.  Of course after we told him that we did not hear back from him again.  So, we decided to call the head guy at Mopar Performance since they were the sponsors of the 360 crate engine and tell him what happened.  As soon as he heard what happened he emailed us and offered to ship us a 5.7 crate Hemi instead.  Of course we were happy with that.  When we first found out about my husband winning we looked up the name of the 2004 winner and called him to see if he had received his engine.  He knew nothing about winning either.  So, that made us wonder if anybody had received their engines.  We told the guy from Mopar Performance that the 2004 winner had never recieved his engine so they shipped him a 5.7 crate Hemi too.  We are very impressed that Mopar Performance stepped up and did the right thing.  They are tops in our book.  We will not support the Mopar Nats since they did not support us.  When we go out to our garage we still can't believe we won the engine.

Interesting. I'm going to pass this info along to the powers that be, since I judge for these guys at Nats every August. I am sorry to hear about your issue with the Nats in Columbus, but understand where your coming from. A 5.7 Hemi would be awesome! :2thumbs:

Last year was the first I went to Carlisle for one day. I was blown away by the size of the swaps. Spent some time talking to Denny Kore(?) in the show buildings. (he used to judge with us at the Nats. Never had enough time to see the show field. I WILL make up for that this year! :woohoo:
