IT Systems Tech; everything from running and installing data lines to evaluating pc and networking issues. Due to turnover i am now overseeing, and assembling 'how to' documentation for our Help Desk.
Last week we actuallly had a lady call us saying she couldn't print....when the tech arrived at her desk, the printer was turned off  :faint:

I work at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth VA as a mechanical engineering technician. A very interesting highly technical job. I work on Aircraft carriers, LHA class conventional powered ships & nuclear powered submarines; fast attack & Boomers otherwise known as "Trident subs". I currently work on the USS Georgia which is a Trident class submarine and an amazing marvel of science. It's only 560 feet long and has 4 levels. It's a pretty cool job. :bigshades: I started as a mere apprentice in the outside machine shop (marine machinery mechanic) back in 1979. yes, it was the 70's!! I've been there now for 28 years  :wow:. Seems like yesterday!! I do propulsion plant & support systems testing. I get to blow things up. Not really, but sometimes things do blow up during testing. that's what makes the job interesting :22yikes: I've made it up to GS-12 and will probably retire there. Good money with the OT I pull in 80-100K a year!! Gotta have gas money for those big blocks!!
