The issues guys have most is running the 1009 on a B wedge block. The bore of the gasket is 4.39. That's only .005 larger than a 440 bored .060 over. The problem is, the 4.385 and up bore is an issue. At .030 over when you torque the head, the fire ring will squish into the bore space where the chamfer is cut for the pistons and rings to be installed. Beyond the surface of the block. Without any contact on that side to remove heat of combustion, the gasket burns thru the ring under hard use. And the gasket blows. The bigger the chamfer, the faster the gasket will let go. I believe the std 8317PT1(IIRC?) has a 4.41 bore, and doesnt have that issue on B wedges.
