What's the diff between the 70 and 71 Challenger exterior wise?

The green Challenger you have posted is a 70 model year Challenger.  There are numerous differences between the 2 model years.  Most things are not obvious.  The obvious differences can be found, as was posted by Tropicalcats and 72 hemi, in the grille area and taillight area.  The rest of the car pretty much looks the same.

Goofy little doo-dad thing too is that the '71 R/T had the rear quarter louvers.  Looks cool, IMO.    Also the Go Wings are different design.  The '71 is the Gull wing style as in this pic below.  Stripes on the R/T versions differ too.

I also learned from Barry that although it was supposed to be an option, NO Challengers had the elastomeric bumper/bumpers in 70 besides the yellow jacket Challenger show car but they did show up in limited numbers in 71. The mirrors in all E-bodies were different on the  bases between 70-71. Subtle molding differences also.

The entire mirror is different between 70 and 71.  There are possibly 20 or more differences between the 2 years 70 & 71.  I have never taken the time to build a list and there may be some I do not know of.  They are small and you have to actually look for many of them.
