Shawn - I thought your car sold for 57k.. that would've been a wordly steal. However, Last year some guy on ebay sold a red 71 hemi clone auto.. he did it from a 70 barracuda. The car looked real clean & tight from a resto standpoint. That cuda sold for 61k.. and was a true bargain.. if there is one w/ mopars.

Man, if you guys just painted that jet black.. and through on some plymouth division caps on steelies.. you'ld have zero problem sellin her for 80k.

All IMO, of course. And I am not ripping anyone's resto. But we all have opinions and and any and all posts may be subject w/ criticism.. either way. If I wasn't ok with that, then I would not post.

Wasn't that 'Cuda modified a long time ago and they left it that way? I think I remember a 70 R code vert that had a custom paint applied at some time and instead of doing a regular resto they left it the way they found it, does that sound right?

The 2 70's style custom paint pics in this thread remind me of my brother in laws 70 R/T SE. It was repainted with a similar style way back in the 70's. The paint itself has not stood the test of time and it was made into a hardtop but I still like that funky style for some crazy reason. Reminds me of a simpler time, a time of shrooms and wizard ceramic thingamajigs

$57k is a damn good price for sure, dep. on how solid the car was and the effort of the body work was done on it.

$5k into painting the top-side black (jams, engine/trunk compartment already done!), hockey stick stripe, $1k rubber bumper, and it'll be a $85k car easy!

Well the market right now is really flat my husband just sold a 68 gto convertible all done and only got 28k for it. 6 months ago it would of brought 35k easy.Market really taking a hit.good luck with the sale.

I dunno, but IMO if anyone cares I think the car looks pretty cool.  Yeah, custom cars are a little individual but I think the colors are cool and the stripe reminds me of a cross between a '73 Cuda stripe and an AAR stripe, kinda creative I think.  I do like the fading of the colors on the stripe.   

I wonder what it would look like with Rallies or 17" Rallies or 17" Magnum 500s?

shawn, I find no fault with the look of the Cuda, if it were at most car shows it would be a star, but on the constructive criticism side whoever is doing your upholstery work leaves something to be desired.  Maybe drag it down to Carlisle next month & see what kind of offers you get.  Good luck with the sale.

Best of luck with the sale!   IMO it's a lot of car for the money, so you'd think it wouldn't be too hard to sell.  The paint scheme is different, but like everyone said it doesn't really take too much to repaint it a solid color and have a great ride suited to your color tastes.
