Looks like you were at the Papa's Dodge show? The black painted bumpers were added to the car years ago.

Man o man you are good,Barry.I was at that show yesterday and that place just blew me away. And that T/A is just pure evil looking,so what's the deal with the bumpers? Was that something that was offered?I would love to see that one with black steelies and the red lines on it.By the way if you want to see some of the other cars that were there?I posted pic's in the show section. The Clown

The elastomaric bumpers were initially supposed to be available on the 1970 Challengers, but it did not happen for some reason. They did come available in 1971 and were a one year only deal. They do look great, I do not care for chrome much, so if I found a set I would gladly add them to my T/A as well.

Ken Papa (Papa's Dodge) has owned that car for years, I am sure he found a pair of the bumpers someplace long ago.......

I really liked the textured paint finish on the bumpers, seemed to be a little more texture than the organisol.

Man, I cant agree more.  Too nice to drive during the day.  Must drive at night, very intimidating at night.    8)

Just imagine that thing pulling next to you at the stoplight, six pack sucking air at an idle.  I would sh!t my pants!

Double-black T/A.  Can't get much tougher than that for a Chally! :2thumbs:

However, I'm not a fan of elasto bumpers on Challys, unless they're on '72-'74s w/the painted grille and headlight surrounds and hood trim.
