Nope, not at all. Galen will decode fender tags and broadcast sheets for people. The document in the ad looks like a fender tag decode.

That does NOT mean that Galen certified the car as "numbers matching" , which is another service he offers.

This car has been on and off Ebay, it was at the Mecum auction as well. Lots of people know that the numbers have been altered at this point, Galen included.

I think they are an incorrect font, specifically the '3's.

The fonts are NOT what the factory used.

This car has been for sale in quite a few places the last few years, there is another thread about it on this site. Someplace.....

So this guy who just made his first post to our club actually knows it's a bogus car?  I say axe him and delete the post since he is deliberatly mis leading evryone here.

Is it worth that much extra to have the matching numbers engine over say a date coded engine? Seems like the guy would just bite the bullet and represent the car for what it is, a beautiful car without the original drivetrain, it would not be the end of the world. Can you imagine the poor schmuck who buys that car and proudly shows it? It would not be pretty  :swear:

Hi :wave:, this is once again what happens because the numbers match hysteria, sure i would like to have it matching # but hey i have found a correct date coded engine for my 71R/T and thats ok by me... :bigsmile:
To bad many people do whatever they feel like when they smell big $$$ :villagers:

I would love to own that car and if I did the first thing I would do is take those bogus #s off it. Has anyone seen it in person? Is it as nice in person as it is in the photos?
