hello from pa
« on: June 19, 2007 - 05:12:58 PM »
Wow,this is really a great site! I wish i had found it when we 1st got my car to restore when i was 12. Let me tell you all about my self and car. First, we are mopar people, with my dad having owned a roadrunner from when he graduated in '69. In 2000, when i was barely a teen, we purchased a roadrunner so he could (as springsteen put it) "recapture a little of the glory of." We were really into the car, and decided to buy one for me(how cool). After much looking we found a 1970 Challenger. We started working on it but got distracted by the purchase of a 1970 Superbird. Finally, now at 18, the car is close to completion. It was originally a 318 car, and we planned on keeping it original to maintain the numbers. When we pulled the engine we discovered that the 318 was long gone, and in its place was a 273! So we bought a 360 to put in it(3 yrs ago). Naturally i was excited at the prospect of more mules under the hood. We stripped the car out and then decided to get it media blasted(5 days ago!) and are waiting to get it back. Three weeks ago i was surprised when dad came home from work late. In the back of his truck was a '68 440 magnum-with a six pack cast iron intake and 3x2 carbs on top. All thats left now is to get the car back from the blast, do body work(minimal) re-assemble, and fire the beast! We are gonna make it into an r/t, with the original color of FC7 Plum Crazy. Sorry this was so long winded, but you seem like a good group of people, and I wanted you to know about myself.
                                                                                         thanks, kyle
