Do any of you happen to own this car?
« on: June 20, 2007 - 09:06:11 PM »
In my opinion this is one of the best examples of a 1970 Challenger, and is what I hope to pattern my car after. I really dig the chrome rocker panel moldings. Any thoughts?

I'm partial to the bumble bee stripe and no wing, but I love the 70 with the R/T hood.

I like the bumble bee stripe too, but I think that stripe really accents the body line. I'm not a fan of the go wing either, but have to admit that it looks good on some e-bodies.

MM1970,

That's a great looking example.  Plum Crazy is too common for me though.  Still a sharp looking car.

I am restoring a 70 R/T that FY1 Yellow that has that option.  It seems to be a rare option.  I am in the parts collecting stage and haven't really started working on it.  I have worked on the two doors but that's about it.

As far as color goes, I have to agree. Top banana is my favorite e-body color, but the car came with relatively new paint.. plum crazy it is.

Purple is great but common.

As far as stripes go:

1.  T/a is the best
2.   Aar is second
3.  Bumble bee next
4  71 Rt next
5.  70 Rt horizontal is my least favorite.

NO go wing unless it's on a 71.

I agree also about seeing alot of plum crazy cars, but owning a car that was originally FC7, I can't imagine painting it anything else. I am however thinking about bumble bee striping it, as it seems to be more rare.

You know, after this post, I am seriously considering putting a Bumblebee stripe around the back end.
