Motor mount question

I don't remember how the mount bolts to the block and the manual isn't any help ...but it will make a difference of about an inch in engine location. look at the pics below and tell me which is correct I think it is like the behind pic ?

The picture at the top looks correct. The one at the bottom looks wrong. I checked my 440 Cuda. the mounting bracket that attaches to the engine should be positioned as far back as it will bolt up.

i don't remember offhand but i am assuming the mounts bolt up to the machined side of the "ears"

that is what I thot even tho it sits better with the right side behind the boss and the left side in front of the boss....LOL the motor looks square to the car and the headers clear much better but I ain't gonna experiment with it untill I get evrything hooked up and the trans in it too ....LOL
