Very high, around 2 1/2 feet. When you figure the height sitting on a tranny floor jack.Taking it off the jack and slide it out by itself will help.

Take the front tire(s) off and you can slide it out by putting the tallest point (front of the bellhousing) just behind the centerlink as you drag it out on some cardboard or a piece of wood. If you have headers, they will complicate things some...

Uh, I dont know your age or mechanical ability, but a few points of interest for you

PLEASE have some kind of safety plan when you are by yourself under your car. Use good stands, on solid ground , concrete prefered. If you have extra floor jacks, keep one under the center section of the rear end and one just under the k member. wear glasses to keep crud out of your eyes, and drain the fluid as much as you can. If you can plug the tailshaft-do it. keep a phone under the car within reach if your by yourself. Once you have the car up in the air, shake , rock, and push all over your car to be sure it's stable. Keep some rags real close by.  And read up some on the subject for pointers before you begin.

We would enjoy hearing your success story :2thumbs:

Normally, I disco the battery, remove the starter, drain the fluid, remove the dipstick and plug the hole, undo the lines, shifter linkage and speedo cable, jack the rear of the car up, support the rear axle and frame with jack stands.  Then I support the trans with a jack and some wood, undo the bolts to the converter, remove the bolts to the crossmember, remove the bolts from the bellhousing and then pull the trans rearward.  I then lower the jack and roll the trans onto a piece of cardboard.  I drag the trans out by the rear tires and if needed I tilt the tailshaft up so to pivot the bellhousing down to clear it out from under the car.  Should get it done in 2 hours or so.  Good luck!

Did the same thing last year in my driveway...

Don't forget to support the back of the engine when you take the trans out.

Ohhh I forgot that step, but I wouldn't have if I were actually doing it.

People sometimes use a block of wood under the oil pan, others use a strap around the torsion bars for support while otehrs do the obvious and hook an engine hoist up to it.
