Muscle Car Magazines
« on: June 25, 2007 - 06:50:53 PM »
I have subscribed to most of these magazines at one time or another. I have decided to reduce the amount of mail I get.I just got a  subscription to Mopar Collector's Guide.I like the fact I can hunt down parts or services I need from one source.

What your favorite?

I get them all while I'm at Carlisle, so I can get a free t-shirt.

I have quite a colection of old Mags going here.  Maybe 3-400 of them.  Going back to 92-93.  Kids in HS used to look at me funny.

Mopar muscle out of your list. Popular Hotrodding is my longest favorite as it has a little more technical articles that I enjoy versus a bunch of pictures of camaros. I will say I have been impressed with the old standbys Hot Rodding and Car Craft lately. More interesting articles, I guess they have realized we are bored of the red small block camaros and red big block 70 chevelles even if they are cool. How many different ways can you do the ultimate street strip small block chevy for under $500? You can't really beat that $1 per issue subscription rate they have either. I can't see how the internet doesn't just kill Hemmings. I guess the services are useful, but you would think the instant ads of the internet beat the month long lead times. Maybe on the high dollar cars the more exposure the better.

I've been loyal to MM since I was around 14.  Car Craft about the same amount of time, but I just like their tech articles more than anything.

Been loyal to Mopar Muscle since I got my Challenger about 11 years ago, and still have every issue.  Also get Mopar Action (not on the list).

I did get MCG for a year (several years ago), but I let it run out and never renewed.  I have been thinking about starting it again.

After years of getting them off the stands I now subscribe to Mopar Action and recently added Mopar Muscle. I need to subscribe to MCG, I used to like that magazine but do not see it around here now. As for a favorite I dont know. I have always liked Mopar Action but after years of it I am kind of tired of how they run down other magazines for little mistakes/article blunders.

I started to order MCG again since they seem to have finally dumped GG. I also like being able to look at adds and read articals from the same mag.  :poopoke:

I really like Hemmings muscelcar mag. Great stories and history details and quality photos. I have never thrown a car magazine away in the 25+ years that I have bought them. I have several thousand. I was also fortunate enough to have a friend give me two hotrod binders worth of Hotrod and other mags from 1968-1971, all of the best years with all of the original reviews and advertisements for the best cars ever made. It's crazy what I see ppl selling the original advertisements out of those for at fleamarkets. I'll never tear any pages out of them for a little profit.

...I have had MOPARS featured/and or cover shots in MOPAR Collectors Guide, MOPAR Muscle, Musclecar Review, HOT ROD(4 MOPARS in one issue), Dupont Registry, and Car Craft among others, but I always liked the material in MOPAR Collectors Guide better than any other MOPAR mag.....Hemmings Muscle Machines is a better mag in my opinion, just not enough MOPARS to suit me...

...I still have every car mag from 1956 on that I ever bought....it is a real storage problem sometimes

I thought Mopar Muscle was relatively new. The only 3 Mopar specific mags I remember from the 80's are High Performance Mopar, Mopar Action and Mopar Collectors Guide. When did Mopar Muscle come onto the scene?

Hemming's Muscle Machines. I just love it. It started a couple of years ago, but it really is a quality mag. They do Mopar proud too, it's not all Ford and Chebby.
