1970 Challenger Pro Street - Better Pics
« on: June 25, 2007 - 07:41:08 PM »
Some of you may know from previous posts that I've been working on 1970 Pro Street Challenger T/A lookalike for about a year now and it is finally time to sell her.

The car started out as a "C code 6 cylinder and was back halved.  The rear is an 8-3/4 with 4-link suspension, 4.11 gears, and 31 * 16-1/2" M/T Sportsman street tires.  6 point roll cage and frame connectors. The engine is a 1967 440 that was rebuilt by a previous owner and has very few miles on it.  I have done a lot of work to the car in the past year here is a partial list

New outer door handles
New Front Bumper - from Tri-City Plating
New T/A hood and Spoiler
New door and trunk weather strip
Professionally recovered front seats
Rebuilt Transmission - with forward pattern manual valve body and shift kit (she BARKS second)
Rebuilt Front end incl all new tie rod ends, upper & lower ball joints, idler arm AND .96" Mopar Performance torsion bar
Holley Street Avenger 770 carb
New Ceramic Coated Hedman Headers
New B3 Ice Blue Metallic B/C paint
New T/A graphics with custom 440 Pro Street fender callouts - I'll post pics shortly with the updated graphics
Aluminum Radiator
and I am sure I am forgetting a bunch of other stuff

See fires right up and runs really strong.  I do not know what she'll do in the 1/4 mile but can say she's one of the strongest cars I've driven. I am sure with a little tuning and maybe a bigger carb she's an 11 second car.

I am listing it exclusively first here on C-C.com for the first week as I think everyone here is simply the BEST!  After a week, it'll hit Moparts, ebay, and the like.

Price is $21K

I will take more pics and post here and on my website www.challengergary.com once the weather clears up (too much rain lately)

Thanks
Gary

Nice car.  I plan on doing something similar with my 72 Cuda. I gotta keep from buying anymore cars for a while though. No room and need more space before I get anything else.

Forgot to mention - I am open to PARTIAL Mopar Only trades.  Preferably e body project or maybe even a truck trade as long as the truck has 4 doors or at least the ability to seat 5 (Durango, Dakota Quad Cab, Ram Quad Cab, Ramcharger etc.)

What a beautiful car,  sure would look great sitting next to Blofish.   You did a very nice job on it.  Love the color.  We have the same problem too many cars and not enough room right now.  I will tell evryone we know about this car.  Good luck on the sale although you will not need it.

Cool car, have you brought it out to any of the local Mopar shows?

I brought it to the Cowtown Mopar Club show  but it was not anywhere near done at the time.  Brought it to the Christian Classic Cruisers show on Saturday and it was extremely well received.  Are you from the Fort Worth area?  What other shows are going on?  I am still kind of new to the area...

I was back in the swap meet area selling some parts for $$ to finish this car.  I drove it there  from Haslet but it looked REALLY different.  I was dark burgundy metallic...

I saw your cars, all I can say is WOW!!   :2thumbs:

Thanks, and if you ever make over to the Dallas side of the metroplex come over and talk Mopar. Also, the Mini Nats are in Garland Labor Day weekend.

Would love to have it, but no more toys for me until my money starts making me money. Gotta get some property first too.
