Can an Abody 833 be converted to an Ebody 833??

I can't remember if the tailshaft can be changed or not.  Any help will be appreaciated.

yes & yes , I have an A body 833 OD that will bolt into your E or B body using a custom shifter mount , But the shifter comes through in the bench seat / forward position
 you can also swap the mainshaft & tailhousing to modifiy the 833 to long shaft using you existing gear set , the OD & normal 833 use a different mainshaft though so if it is a OD now you need an OD mainshaft for example

I have an 833 OD from a truck here that is bad.  The case is broke.  It looks identical to my Ebody 833.  It even has the 2 shifter locations on the tailshaft which is iron instead of alluminum. I have an 833 Abody trans that is good.  Both are 23 spline.  What I want to do is use the Abody case and the Tailshaft of the broken trans and whatever internal components are needed to build a good Ebody trans. This can be done???

if the case has the large front brg you can use the A body case & swap in all the OD parts from the track 833 OD
