At least it didn't let go right behind the oil pressure guage inside the car!

That happened to a buddy of mine in his "love van"  (his words not mine)  Sprayed oil all over the back of the dash and on to the carpet....

Jeff, You did trash the plastic line for a metal one didn't you?

i know the problem is resolved but a great idea for a oil leak you cant really pinpoint is dye. we have it at work so im sure and dealer/parts shop would have the stuff. shows up with a black light, has saved me many headaches at work before (the have it for AC, Trans, Powersteering and coolant too)

Does the sye mess up your oil then. I'd be uncomfortable having it in my engine/tranny

Glad it was a small fix.  Sounded worse.  When I got my car the same thing was going on. This was the "first fix" of the car for me. And it was the problem that sent the previous owner over the edge to sell.He couldn't/didn't find the badly kinked fuel lines. (after a new tank and pump) And a jagged up heater box. Not to mention 12* off timing.  This car is MUCH happier now.       :2thumbs:

There was no gauge in the car.  When I got it, the plastic line was folded multiple times and wrapped with electrical tape.  The aforementioned "idiot's" handywork no doubt...

It has been replaced with a O.E. temp switch for "idiot lights."  I just gotta replace the wire to the switch which was taped up somewhere in the original harness.  Ahh if I ever find you, sir idiot...

:)

Thanks guys.  Y'all are great.
