I happened on this site from DodgeCharger.com. I am pretty much a lurker and enjoy the stories and technical information that is out there. Here is how my Cuda got away. You hear of this kind of story all the time but it just happened to me. Here goes....
3 weeks ago I drive by a truck dealers garage and notice a Road Runner and a Cuda sitting on the side. He was not open but figured since he is a collector also (GM) he got them for restoration and storage or just flip-em. 3 days later I see the door was open so I stopped in and ask what happened to the Mopar's. He stated that he sold them to the highest bidder for 45. Ok, from the road they looked pretty healthy so he got 45 for them. I then ask him where he found them. He stated, "Funny you should ask". A farmer had them advertised, by word of mouth, that he had 2 old Plymouths behind the barn he was trying to sell for 15 for the pair. The farmer stated that he had told about 20 people but no one was interested in a couple of old Plymouths. Franky was just about to leave when he said "Sure, I'll take a look at them", well truns out it was the 73 Cuda and the 70 Road Runner. Both were bought by him new and just parked them behind the barn when the mileage got high. Get this, he only wanted $1,500.00 for the pair and Franky sold them for $4,500.00. I ask Franky why so cheap, He simply stated "I'm not into Mopars, I'm a GM guy". Well I was almost sick, still am actually. The Cuda was a 73, 340 ralley, red with the white broken stripe down the side and just needed the engine gone over and paint. The 70 RR needed a transmission and passenger floor pan. My point also is, these vehicles were 3 miles from my house. I do own a 74 Charger thats had been done over but there is nothing like a 70-74 Cuda.
