Because of the shape & position of the opening nothing really fits unless you cut the lower dash trim panel , I have mounted some in the glovebox with a remote & left the stock radio in place

I don't know about Challengers, but surely they aren't that much different than a Barracuda. My '73's radio opening allowed for the steel cage that most new stereos are mounted into, to fit perfectly. The only thing that I had to do was construct a support underneath, using L aluminum pieces and an aluminum plate, to help hold the thing in. Can't see any of the brackets unless you are underneath the dash. The whole thing is very secure and really a clean install.
Just wanted to throw that out there...................

I had no problem installing an aftermarket CD deck bringing it in from the back, it's actually about 12 year old piece I had left over.  My'73s opening is almost exactly the single DIN size. I also constructed a support cage to make a solid mount.

The sleeve for my aftermarket radio fit right into the opening on my car.  :bananasmi The unit wasn't very heavy at all, so I didn't even bother to make any type of support brackets.  :misbehaving: Nothing like listening to MP3's on a CD.
