I was at the Carlisle GM show last weekend (trying to get rid of a Chebbie), and Panther Lifts (
www.pantherlifts.com) had a lift on site. People were using it to look at and inspect cars all day long. I talked with the reps, and was pretty impressed. It was the 7000# model for $1695, and that includes casters, jack tray, ramps, and drip trays (All the stuff you have to pay extra for on many other lifts. I asked about stability, and safety, and the rep walked over to it (while it had a $50k Camaro on it), and tried to shake it. It didn't budge. He invited me to do the same, which I did. The owners of the Camaro started to get a little excited, but hey, it was just a Camaro.
So anyway. I've always been told to stay away from lifts made in China, but this one seemed like a great deal. The reps said that they closely monitor the manufacturing process and make sure no corners are cut. Course they would never tell me otherwise.
I'm seriously thinking about getting one, and I was just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience, or has heard any horror stories about this particular company. I'm hoping they will be back for the Mopar show.
