LOL  no replacement for displacement is true but the Fast and the Furious boys only believe in 4's and 6's and lightweight wheels that add 25 hp and fancy paint and stickers that add 35hp yaknow. but they still cant keep up with the true american muscle unless we take off half our spark plugs  LMAO

I think I hate the drivers more than the car's, I probably wouldn't mind if they were god old guys or young guys who liked Muscle and weren't so "tough", all the rices I see, just think they are gods gift to women!  >:(

Oh well don't want to spend to much of my time talking about crap! LOL
Can't wait to get my bad boy back on the road, I have to many things to do for the resto - then I have a few tiny mods to do, hopefully a low 12 second street car, that will be able to be put back to stock so no Bore - stroke for this challenger but I have a few other tricks up my sleave  :D 8)

there is 1 reason why American cars don't last longer than Jap crap , because they don't have to, we will all still buy them ! stuff was made to last back then, and stuff today is made like crap.  those engineered steel (tin foil) panels, throw in a rust hole and lets see how it stands up !!!!!!!!

as for american cars leaving   you ever heard of Auburns, Cords, Duesunburgs, models T's   and a hole list of others

now some sell for Millions...........

Here's an interesting fact that I've learned and come to notice... the cars of yesterday (aka: our pride and joys) were over engineered... the engineers didn't think they were going to last but 10 years... now look at them... the best cars are at least 30 years old!! :o ;D The vehicles of today are so under-engineered with such close specs to follow and tolerances so tight that it's a wonder some engines (or cars for that matter) don't just fall apart into themselves..... ::)

Don't mean to hijack, but I thought it fit the last couple posts....Speaking of todays engineering  ::), a specific example of stupidity by mopar herself. The Dodge Stratus. I work at a collision repair shop, just to give you an idea of where/how/why I see this stuff. Example 1. changing the battery, do you realize that the only way to change the battery on this vehicle is to REMOVE THE BUMPER COVER. it is outside the engine compartment infront of the front driver wheel, there is a steel plate below it and no way to get at it from above.  Example 2: there are 2 computers that are mounted just inside the engine bay on the drivers side. So if you are hit on the drivers side front corner it can/WILL destroy your battery, sending acid everywhere, which tends to include those computers...if they weren't destroyed in the crash itself.... BTW each of those computers cost 2 grand a piece.... good thing they are mounted right in the front of the car.... the fronts of cars never get wrecked ::) ::) ::).... anyhoo, please continue the ricer discussion I enjoy the tales of stpidity  ;D

Well, I had another Ricer to Old iron (Me) conversation today during my English class.  The kid asked me why work on an old muscle car when there are cheaper Ricers out there.  My reply: "I'd much rather take iron over plastic anyday...Not to mention the lack of the other four cylinders in Rice."  He just gave me the typical Ricer reply where he opens up with the vulgor talk and the cut down because my car's still in the shop.. >:(  Morons....they just never learn the facts. ::)

A very cool thing that I've noticed now that my first quarter as a full time Auto Student in college is... everyone in the program.. no matter what they drive... respects old muscle!! :o ;D Imagine that?!?! Even more motivation to finish her up... they all want to see the Slanted Beast! :P And there's a few pieces of charred rice that aren't quite done enough... I'll be sure to roast them some more!!!
