Got my new Dart home today
« on: July 05, 2007 - 09:16:01 PM »
Today I went and picked up my new 72 Dodge Dart Swinger. It is all original and in awesome shape. Got it for 800 bucks and it has power steering, power disk brakes, but it only has a slant six (for the moment :naughty:) I am not even going to paint it. Just wash and wax. I also got a mint broadcast sheet with it. Supposedly there is a rod knock in the 6, but I have not verified that yet.

WOW $800!!!  For that kind of money, are you sure they gave you the right one.  I was expecting to see a lot worse.  You got a very good deal.  Have fun.   :2thumbs:

I bought the car from a friend of mines grandson. THe car has no rust and only a few door dings. The carpet has some wear and there are two splits in the front bench. The only thing that does not work is the windshield washer. The car spent most of its life garaged. I am going to yank the 6 and put in a mild 318 4 barrel, and install a 8 3/4 rear, rallye wheels, dual exhaust, twin hood scoops, replace the front seat cover, and then just drive the car.

Darts are great cars.   :ylsuper:  I owned 4 of them back in the day.  Everything from the leaning tower of power to wild 340's.  You're gonna have a lot of fun with it when you get done.....    :burnout:    :cooldancing:

I decided to try and start the dart today to see what the knock was, and to my surprise there was no knock and it purred like a kitten. :jumping:
