Overhaulin Chally 4 sale
« on: July 06, 2007 - 05:33:01 PM »
Ok just so I clear things first before I finish this post. YES it is their car and they can do with it as they want. And YES it is their business. However.... I, as others are a little confused about something.   First of all it has nothing to do with any web board or forum, it is what it is and I think thats why people are a little harsh. I dont understand how knowing full well what the outcome is going to be when they take the car and do it. You know exactly how the car is going to end up. So you take the time to fill out an entry form and send it in with the hopes of them picking your car. They pick your car to be Overhauled and you are made fully aware of what is going to go on (if you watch the show you know whats in store)  This kid posted on every web board and car forum out there about his dads car being on Overhauled. Told the whole sordid story about the whole thing (correct if im wrong but arent you supposed to keep hush hush about this???)   They get the car take it home and have it what for a year if that?? Decide to sell it for whatever reason. Someone sees the ad (which is inevitable) and people start posting about and discussing it. and all of a sudden everyone is a bad guy for asking questions as to why??? If you submit the car to the show to be done common sense would tell you to prepare to own a car thats more than likely going to be a trailer queen. I dont think anyone truely cares what they do with it as is mentioned over and over again that it is theirs to do with as they please but I think people are looking more as to why sell it now knowing all along what was going to be done with it. Nobodies fangs came out on the other board people just asked questions that couldnt be answered or wont be answered.  People get very defensive when caught in a rock and a hard place. With all the posts about this while it was on the show and how this was something that was sooo great and yadda yadda yadda. Doesnt anyone find it the least bit odd the car is now for sale?? That is what some poeple dont understand and are questioning. You cant really blame somneone for asking questions. And before someone jumps in and says I am right its nobodies business, with all the posting that was done about this car young michael MADE it everyones business. Shame on you people for jumping on those who merely questioined this... :nono:

Transam, with all due respect, you know I get along with you well and everything but I feel it's really no ones business but theirs. People can ask questions, yes, but, at the end of the day, why do they have to justify themselves to us, "just" because we asked? Selling cars is a personal choice and I'm sure they thought about it long and hard. This thread won't last too long one would imagine.

Typical case of "Mods away Mice will play."  I thought enough was said in the locked thread?

 :iagree:

And I don't know you (Transamcuda.com) but I will still give you the respect you deserve......sometimes people do things and the outcome may or may not be what they wanted.  Either case, it's none of our busines why they are selling it.  Yes it's ok to question them, but it's not ok to badger them and make silly remarks about why they are probably selling it.  The thread started off normal until someone said "it says it's located in VA, I thought they lived in FL" and then the tumble-weed effect began.....before Goody had time to say anything, it was already assumed by those who were questioning him that the ad was a fake, or they were in financial troubles, or something......you can see how easily it got out of control.  Regardless of the actual reason, they don't have to justify themselves, ever.  I don't care how many boards he posted it on or what.....if you were in the same situation, the same age and everything, I think you would have acted very similar......it's hard for someone who is 19 (I think that's how old Mike was when the car was Overhauled) to hold all that inside and not be excited for his dad.  So what if he told members of a board.....he obviously felt comfortable enough that everyone would keep hush hush about it right?  otherwise he might not have.  The same way we kept Don's Cuda a secret for 2 years......

In no way am I trying to come off mad or anything but I'm trying to help those who think Goody owes them more of an explaination of what has already been given.

Isn't this like asking the French to fight a war?  Pointless.

Seriously, what's the big deal?  Personally I'd find a car signed by the infamous Rocko far more desirable than anything Foose does.  But that's just me.

Hey guys, let's just let it go and get back to the usual posts seen around here.  I see SilverChally must have gotten a dirty IM from Goody's dad, but let's just keep that between them and not the rest of the site, okay?
