Dave,

I'm sorry I wasn't a witness. But if I was... I'm I wouldn't be behind a keyboard now, I would be in jail.  Seriously. There are just some things you can't put up with in life. Crashing into something I poured my heart into qualifies.  :grinyes: I know what you did to get to Carlisle this year with your trailer. You are a better guy than I am here, I'll tell you that.

purple1, sorry to hear about your accident. As you know it could have been alot worse. At least you got the guy. Get all his insurance info and go thru his insurance carrier and if you can't get an agreed price with his company, then go to your company and let them subrogate against the other guys company. Good luck with the claim and just be very persistant until you get what you want...
:iagree: Definitely a bummer, but glad the guy was caught before he killed or hurt someone!!  I had a guy pull out in front of my Barracuda right after I had a complete paint job. HIS insurance wanted to total out the car. I threatened to sue them and I won out in the end with HIS insurance paying for complete restoration. Don't settle for anything less than what you are owed!! I hope it all works out to your benefit!! :2thumbs:

Mike, if not for a good wife I may have took a trip with those guys... :stomp:
I have to give her the credit for keeping me from violence.

We still had a good time overall, and now I won't let a little setback keep me from coming again.

I was out in the parking lot when the idiot backed into Dave's car. I had just parked in the LAST available parking spot in the main lot. The most amazing part was the turn around time on these guys being released. It must have been an hour when we seen the second coming of these two idiots. After they were released they were mulling around in the dark parking lot. We didn't know whether they were back to just get their cars or to do something malicious. I was assuming the latter and wasn't able to stay inside much after that. I finally walked over to have a talk with them and advised him to get into his car and leave.

The cop gave me the choice, I could have said I would come for a trial and the driver would have been locked up. After calming down a little I gave him a break. Thanks for watching our back. I found out later how you helped out. Thanks again.

it turned into a not so fun time @ the growler we were all on edge for more then 1 reason
therefore there is no group shot this year as in the past , it would have been difficult at best with 44 people attending this year

The fender buckled out and is driven back, so now when opening the door it is worse than before. The valance is tweeked and he smashed head light bezel some more. Along with bending the bumper some.

Dave

Guess the damage doesn't show up well in the pictures... that really stinks, though. Stupid drunks. :villagers:

As far as the insurance stuff my much loved wife will be working that end. She can stay calm, and it is her car too. I may loose it...

Sorry to hear about your troubles there.  Hope it all gets worked out.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
