I'm thinking you need to keep the crush can and use a wheel with a Mopar pattern or add a spacer adapter. WWW.grantproducts.com lists a couple spacer adapters depending on the type of wheel you had. My recent barracuda had a grant without the crushcan and my fingers would hit the dash on turns. I remember putting a grant on my last barracuda years ago and the install kit had a 4 or 5 inch space with it. Possible there are a couple different adapters kits available with different heights? On a related note does a tuff wheel have a different crush can than the regular wheels. I want to put a Grant Tuff wheel repro on my car, but want to use my existing non Tuff wheel crush can. possible?

Here's the spacer I used years ago. Grant 4000. Its a little cheesy being plastic covered, but cheap. Their billet ones look a lot better and sturdier. I just check summit racing and they actually show a challenger/cuda specific billet one part number 5318, but a price of $55. Here's pics of both.

If it doesn't fit on your original crush can, then you need the one in the second pic "gkring" posted. I'm sorry I don't have a part number.

Yup, you need the second adapter, the shorter one is too short, I have many bloody knuckles from the short grant adapter, finally tossed it and got a stock setup.

I have a B-body can on mine. (sometimes called the Tuff wheel can)  I believe they came on some A-bodies too.  It works great because the stock can puts the steering wheel too close IMO

It's about half the length of the stock can

Get the solid adapter from an older truck or take that crush can and cut and weld it shorter.  I'll get a pic off of my Cuda, using a shorter can.

Stroker, locate a stock crush can, make an round piece of plate that you can bolt to it, then transfer the bolt pattern from your existing Grant wheel to the new adaptor plate.  Drill and tap the holes, then drill a larger hole in the center of the adaptor for a horn wire.   Simple and should cost you less than $20.

You need the second pic or you will have a gap at the bottom.  Order it from Summit or an autoparts store like Auto Zone

You should be able to use the install kit below with the challenger style spacer in the first pic above. The install kit hides the gap and should be what is on your car now with your current wheel. Add the two inch spacer and you gain two inches between your dash and fingers. I just removed a challenger wheel from my car without a spacer because I was having the same clearance problem. I think it's worth a trip to the local auto store and buy the two inch spacer and just look at it on your wheel. I'm tempted to go buy on right now just to make sure my memory isn't screwed up from 10 years ago.
