Neither one of us quite say, its raining, ill go for a cruise. Given that, and the fact my stuff has been moved for about a year and a half on my car, even with a kill switch IN my inner fender with no problems. Yes, I've been in more than enough rain too. He won't have an issue. Also maybe part of the reason they put things where they did is maybe partially for mass production reasons? These engine bays were not designed to 'look clean and pretty' with their locations of electrical components. To compare his electrical system from how it was, wire nuts, open twisted splices, cut insulation, etc. The locations of those components is nothing near 'very dangerous'. Last time I checked when it rained, I didn't have any water except a minimal amount that made it through the fan. And this IS florida, it RAINS. Unless RDF decides he will cross a small flowing river, he will be more than fine.

Given the nature of that last little comment, 'Then again, if Goody is helping you, I expect nothing less.' Nor do I expect nothing less from you to take a fine situation of him in need of rewiring his car and me helping him. You are in no place to say my help is inadequate or 'very dangerous'. Same old stuff from you, either here or moparts.

Lets see now, something that isn't suppose to get wet... getting wet... not a good thing.  Others have said the same thing, the voltage regulator and starter relay aren't made to get wet.  They are suppose to be in nice dry locations.  A "Minimal" can be all that is needed to get something fried.

Just because you're a hack, doesn't mean you have to pass that onto other people.  Been good in your Cuda for a year... that doesn't give me great confidence after that little wreck you had.

I thought this thread was about rewiring RDF's car. Let's keep the personal attacks out of it and stay on the topic please. :drama:

Yea if you have nothing positive to say or as we say in the corp world, "are you part of the problem or part of the solution?" There are alot more positive and constructive ways to get your point across and the purpose of the forum is to show support and teamwork and not the opposite :stirpot:

Goody i think it is great that you are helping out a fellow member.  Maybe a small splash shield can be fabricated to mount below jusy in case.  I agree that most likely the car will not see frequent rain but you never know.  But either way I think that it is a good idea to clean up the bay. :2thumbs:

Cleaning up the engine bay is one thing, doing something half assed is another.  The better thing to do it remove it from the location where it could get moisture.  Bring it in the interior, under the dash somewhere.  I kept everything where it is suppose to be, but that's me.  Cleaning up the engine bay isn't a top priority.  The starter relay should be closer to the starter, not further away, so hiding it would be easier to do perhaps behind the splash shield... not in a location that further away, and can get contact with water easier.

Just my opinion with experience, and the opinion and experience of others, as was show in previous posts.  I would seriously move the stuff away from there if you want your car to be a driver.  If it sits in a garage all the time and you drive it every few weeks/months.  Sure it will survive, but do you want to take that risk?

I guess that's what I get by not going with PAINLESS huh?   :smilielol:   :smilielol:

As far as the location of components in the engine bay:  I don't know where things should or shouldn't be, hence the reason I asked for help wiring my car.  Also the reason why I started this thread is to get some help and entrust the ideas/experience of other members to help when they can.  I hate using this line, but I will; "Opinions are like a$$h0les...everyone's got one" and that holds true nowhere more than forums.  I thank everyone for their input on how they would do this and what I should and shouldn't be doing.  It's invaluable information for me and I will learn from it all.  Please keep the commets coming, but refrain from bashing of other members in the process.  :2thumbs:

Well just an update on my burn.....my wife and I cut open the blister last night and it felt better today.  But tonight she debraided it (my wife is a physician) and all I can say is MAN that hurt....probably worse than the original burn.  All the dead skin has been cut away and just the raw skin was left, then I had to scrub (yes scrub) the raw area clean......OUCH!!!!!  But it's all wrapped up again and feeling a bit better....still burning, but not as bad.  I meant to take pictures, but I was in too much pain and the images would have been pretty nasty.  :puke:

That probably felt about as good as the Yoshimura R3 racing pipe burn I have on my calf...The only thing cooler would have been if I got some lettering burned into my scar, but instead it's just a big patch of scar tissue.

Hope you heal quick, Bob. so you can get back to the rewiring & get back on the road again.  I burned my calf on a bike exhaust also & they used a little brush on the burn to clean it.   :swear: :swear:
