stripes
« on: July 11, 2007 - 06:28:17 PM »
Sometime in the not too distant future my chally is going to be painted and the issue of stripes has come up. Now I pretty much hate all the factory stripes that came out on Challengers so has anyone got pics of challys with custom stripes? I'm kind of leaning towards not having anything at all but it would be nice to see what other people who don't go for the stock look came up with.

On a Challenger I totally agree with you (Cudas have the cool stripes) , personally one exception to that is the Rallye stripes that came out in 73 and my wife wanted on our Challenger, they are pretty nice. But as far as non stock stripes I don't recall ever seeing any, that would be interesting to see. Good post BTW   :2thumbs:

I guess body side moldings aren't your thing Paul? I have a mint set if you need them, let me know, they're hard to come by. IMO, the Challenger looks best when left naked. The accent line is the decal compared to the 'Cudas "flat" sides, the Challengers curves are that of a Woman, slim up front, big out back lol. Food for thought, what about having a nice bumblebee stripe back there to break it up some?

You're going Panther Pink so here are some different photos to get help you along.

Thanks for the pics Carl, that stripe is probably the one I hate the most. Does nothing to enhance the car at all and IMO should have been above the body line not below it.
My car actually had the body mouldings originally. Took 'em off when it was in the panel shop and had the holes filled.

Totally agree with You White satin, Cuda stripes had some flair to them - the strobe stripe on the AAR's is awesome, the hockey stick - simple but enhances the car.

That personally next to the Rallye stobe is I guess one that I could live with. However I'd say eleminate the R/T from the stripe for 72-74 models like Nick did on his. Mopar people know anyway and why attempt to pass your car off as something that never exisited to begin with?   :2cents:

Thanks 360
thats what I'm interested in seeing, something thats not stock. Not saying that I would put that stripe on my car but at least it's something out of the ordinary.
