Its only going to get worse.  I would get the body strip/blasted and get it in paint.  At least get the body done, you can reuse the interior, leave the motor/trans, suspension etc... as is for now.
Thats the basic plan right now. Save it before it gets worse. Shopping for body panels is next...  :banghead:
Need:
Fender PS RH
Floor patch panel (the small one) DS LH
trunk extensions both sides
rear quarter panel skins both sides (to be used as patches)
Trunk lid (maybe it can be patched  :dunno: )

The rest I will make patches for. Any one know where to get all that??? CHEAP!  :1zhelp:

Dave, Check around locally for a dealer that can order the new patch panels for you...I did & saved a good bit because there was no shipping added.

The site does not list any panels, guess I have to give them a call. Thanks Doug.

Just placed an order, the first of many I'm sure. I got the right fender, both quarter skins and the deck lid on order. when it all comes in I will pick it up. The place is about 45-50 min. drive, so its not to bad. Saved tones of money on shipping charges for the big stuff anyway.  :woohoo:

Now, more shopping still to do...  :chatting:

Wow, I didn't realize you had bubbles like that throughout the car.  It looked very nice from the previous photos I've seen, but it's good to see you're going to get everything body-wise fixed before it gets too out of hand.  Keep us posted with your progress. :2thumbs:

I was going to do a quick repaint on my car. Lets just say I hope you are not like me and get eyes WAY bigger than your appetite(aka-wallet)  :scared:  I read it in a post here once and it pretty much seems true to me. Even if the trim and all that is in pretty good shape, once you get started you just end up with a pile of worn out parts in good shape. Bumpers, stainless window surrounds and hood/decklid trim, headlight bezels all look like junk to me when you hold them up to fresh paint. Once you dig in you might as well do all that needs doing. Just my  :2cents:

I seen it coming before it started... You know I am looking at all that stuff now. All the extra trim and suff I have, I got to look at and polish or replace it all... That is the "Snowball Effect". But it will be great to go ahead and do it. I don't have a pic of the new(rechromed) rear bumper yet, but it looks great for the price.

Dave,

I got lucky years ago and paid like $140 for my rechromed 72 rear bumper(on E-Bay). I got lucky, as I guess most want 70-71 bumpers. The 70 bumper on my car was scratched and pitted.   :eek7: Not show worthy, for sure.  I'm glad the snowball is moving down hill for you.  :2thumbs:
