Well, she had gone out with these folks for a going away for one of them. She had a beer and a margarita at 1845. the events all took place at 2300. She is not a light weight either. The guys kept drinking. then one of the guys started wrestling with her and she kept telling him to let her go etc. they then threw her in their car, wouldnt tell her where they were going. she knew by looking out the window that they were going back to the station. when she got there the OD was woken up and kept telling her that she was plastered and just to go to bed. Of course with the bruises and cuts on her she didnt feel this was acceptable, drunk or not, so she called me for advice. My advice (from an AF point of view) was there is a chain of command for a reason, and she needed to use it and to keep her military bearing. While the OD had the males involved filling out statements she went to the Operations officer which ordered her to just go to bed. I know that all branches have their own way of working, but even if i walked into work today after drinking with cuts all over me and i told someone anything like this, an investigation would be done, the first thing they told us in basic, is that no one has a right to touch you, no exceptions. That is why our doctors ask permission before touching. This really struck a nerve because she is my sister and because i have female troops below me that i would not ever want to see beaten and battered and i really think that the officer core should have taken better care of their troops in this matter. I didnt mention the IG to her, completely forgot about them. I will have to let her know that they are an option as well.
