6 pack and hemi cars had vapor recovery fuel filters from the factory, they help in preventing vapor lock. you should try installing one, thats helped several mulit-carbed cars I've had.

Using a carb spacer on the center carb of your 6 pak will require you to install 3 of em for all the carbs, then you might have air cleaner clearance issues, esp if you have a fresh air setup on it.

Thank you all for your advice.When I locate a mechanic in my area, I will pass on all of your advice.I don't drive the car that often,so I am in no hurry.

Trouble..same problem here.

All new everything on the fuel delivery side. Starts cold and runs awesome.

Stop for gas and restart...no problem

Stop and go shopping for 20-30 minutes...won't start.

Also gasses up my garage big time with fumes whenever I park her after a ride.

Probably related issues. Spacers aren't an option 'cuz of clearance....

fairly stock motor with the heat risers here.

it's been recommended to me to block them off, but haven't wanted to pull the intake.

why not , it is about 1 hrs work to remove the intake & install a 1215 gasket

It was a nice day to go for a ride.My driveway was paved thursday,so I was able to drive my car on it today.Sunny day, pulled my car out of the garage.I shut the car off, got out of the car to lock my front door.I went to start the car,and it would not start.It cranks but will not start.I have my local mechanic, that will stop over my house to take a look at it after he closes his shop.I am 59 years young,and pushed it back into the garage.

Are you saying you just backed it out of the garage, so it was only running a few minutes, and this problem happened? If so, I would guess that fuel is being dumped down your carb, and you are getting flooded. Check float levels, or too much fuel pressure.  :2cents:

I'm going to tell my mechanic what you said and let him do it,if he can.
What takes you guys a few minutes to do,takes me a week.
It's less of a headache, if I just pay someone who has the knowledge.

Look, I'm in Maryland, not that far away. Would you by chance have an electric fuel pump, or do you have the stock mechanical one?

trouble, on our e-bodies the stock fuel pump is a mechanical pump. this means that as the engine turns over the mechanical pump pumps fuel up into the float bowls on your carbs.
An electric fuel pump is an aftermarket type. When the key is turned on the electric style pumps fuel into the float bowl before the engine turns over. The electric model generally has a noise associated with its operation.

It's just low on my current long list of things to do....won't bore you with the details.
Wish I'd known when the intake was off earlier this year.
Does blocking the risers keep the carbs that much cooler?
