Twisted my driveshaft off tonight
« on: July 18, 2007 - 08:45:14 PM »
I was doing some "street tuning" in a local industrial area tonight and made a mess of my driveshaft.  I thought I broke the u-joint at first but the pics tell the story.  I was pretty surprised to see this kind of failure considering I have street tires (BF Goodrich TAs 275/60/15). This shaft was made up last year using the old driveshaft that came with the car.  The shop was told that it was a high hp engine.  I guess 2.5" inch 0.065" tubing isn't enough.  I now see that the stock driveshafts were 3 1/4"!  I'll have to check with them tomorrow to see what they can do with this.  Any suggestions?
