I don't know.  Nothing has been modified but there is alot of room between the factory snubber and the floor.  I was thinking that that wouldn't help things on launch.

I think this was his problem.

When I read the first part of that I said "My driveshaft is a lot bigger than my exhaust...

Sorry to see that, with a street tire no less. If you have a Automatic , I would pull the transmission out and check it. You could have hurt the sprag......

that's like bringing a toothpick to a barbecue (for the fire)!

Need a bigger shaft... lots of options out there, also possibly they got the metal too hot when welding/making the shaft... just a thought.

Nevertheless, its a proud moment, kind of like when I broke my axle in half!

The driveshaft shop supplied a 3 " 0.083" wall shaft with new ends.  This should work.  The car is a 4 speed so I doubt I broke anything else.  The A833's are very tough.

Took the car for a test drive after the alternator and drive shaft upgrade.  There was quite a popping sound when turning.  I took diff apart and found a large metal chunk in the sure-grip springs.  I think it's from one of the spider gears.  I don't think that they are repairable.  I think it's time for new axles, gears, bearings and a sure-grip unit.

Repairs are almost complete after spending $2300 for a new 3" driveshaft w/1350 joints, new 3.55 gears, new DynaLok diff, new bearings, pinion yoke, slip yoke, axles, axle bearings, seals, studs, pinion snubber, oil.....

Hopefully I can put on a few miles before my insurance expires or the snow flies!
