Stop notifications on certain threads

I would like to see a feature that would allow me to choose which threads (that I create or reply to) that I want to see responsed from (when I click Show new replies to your posts).  Reason being is that on some of the Off Mopar topics that I replied to AGES ago, will keep appearing if someone posts to it.  Those threads do not interest me anymore so it would be nice to allow me to select whether I want to get notified for that thread anymore.

If you click NOTIFY on the thread that you just read, if notify is already enabled, It will ask you if you wish to DISABLE NOTIFICATION for that thread.  Try it.

well I tried that and I'm still getting notifications for threads that I posted to ages ago and do wish to see anymore.  Let me clarify "notifications"....by that I mean when I click "Show new replies to your posts" up top, these threads appear.
