Allignment Q-How can I fix this? rear bumper drivers side farther away from body

Hey guys, just a quick question. My 73 had been tagged in the rear driver's corner at one time. I know the bumper is tweaked, and I am guessing that the bumper bracket is tweaked too. I might have to "persuade" it back into position. (yeah, I had to beat the living snot out of it...)
It looks like the bumper is 3/4" farther away from the body than it should be. I don't have any more fore/aft travel, but I can move it side to side if I need too.
Here is before:

Here is how it looks right now where you can see the bumper pulling away from the body. You can see the kink about mid-way in the rear bumper. Could the bracket be too deformed?

Any thoughts?

Bracket could be tweaked for sure. Did you measure to be sure the frame is still square in the back too?
3 options, either find a replacement bracket, enlarge and slot your current bracket for more movement, cut and weld the bracket to fit.

Looks to me like the bumper itself is bent, not just a little. It's got a curve from the lH bumperette to the LH end of it that I dont think should be there. I would look to replace the bumper if the 1/4 is fixed now. Or send it to chroming to have it straightened then refinished.

Thanks guys.
I have a line on a "new" bumper from a friend I have worked with before. I know the bracket has to be tweaked. I will make templates from the other side and "persuade" it back into space.
More later.
