What exactly are you talking about?
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I beleive convertibles had them regardless of engine size. Also, given mothers somewhat inconsistent approach to car building, some others may have snuck out with them installed for no reason other than they were extras on the line that day and they needed to disappear.

Yes all convertibles have them.  Hemi's and 440-6 cars too!  Not sure if the AAR's and T/A's had them or not??  :clueless:

I know verts have them but as far as hardtops go, I thought 383 cars had them also? Can anybody peek under theirs to check? Thanks!

383s shouldn't have them but as HP2 said, basically nothing in the the Mopar hobby is set in stone. If they had extra consoles, hoods, seat belts, seats, torque boxes (you name it) then it was always possible to get a car that "shouldn't" have that part have that part due to excess factory parts. I'm 98% sure the only cars that were listed as having them were: 440-6bbls, Hemis, Convertibles, T/As and AARs. :2cents:

Thanks, NZ any chance you could verify this with your blue '71 383 (assuming it's in kiwiland already)?

I have seen the photos and no it doesn't have torqueboxes. Though, even if it did it's a non #'s 383 car (original 383) but anyone could have added anything over the last 30 years. Really need s 383 survivor if you want to check a factory car. Barry may have some photos on his site but I don't, sorry.  :)
