Anyone heard of the National Street Machine Club?
« on: July 25, 2007 - 04:56:09 PM »
Hey guys,

A few months ago I got a letter in the mail from NSMC - National Street Machine Club.  It said I had been chosen to be invited to the club and blah blah blah, special offers blah blah blah, lots of free stuff, blah blah blah...

It asked for $1 a month in dues (which you can't get most magazine subscriptions for) and I'd get a free cold heat soldering gun, $40 in gas vouchers for free gas, a key chain, some decals, and a monthly, NSMC magazine.  They want me to subscribe two years ($24) at a time.

I got the first issue of Street Thunder magazine by NSMC, and I must admit it's a decent magazine.  Couple of nice articles, and lots of advertisements for LOTS of stuff.  In fact there was an ad for a company that makes direct bolt-on power steering rack kits for Mopar B/E bodies.  Didn't look into the price (ad didn't say,) but supposedly NSMC members get discounts on this stuff, too.

I wanted to ask if anyone's heard of it - try to find out it's legitimacy before I go sending in a check, but hell, for 24 bucks, that covers the cost of a cold heat soldering gun, if nothin' else!

So, anyone heard of 'em?

Thanks.

Jeff

Here's a link to the power steering kit I mentioned - probably should share this over in that thread forum as well.  It's by unisteer.

They sent me a book "building Muscle" that i just never got around to sending back (instead of paying the $9) but it is all GM stuff, most of their Street Thunder mag seems to be GM as well. Oh well, dont know if i will renew or not. just my  :2cents:
