NewB from Cadiz Kentucky
« on: July 26, 2007 - 10:15:09 PM »
I am 28, Always loved Mopars. I have had my 70 R/T for 14 years. I bought it in a field in Southern IL. for $1100.00  I had saved money from mowing yards. It was a drag car, It took me 4 years to get on the road. I put in a 440/727 from a 68 New Yorker. After i blew it up, and then my body work, and paint went to hell, it has been put on the back burner for years now. I have been in Army for the past couple years, I am a free man again, so its time to start working on the Dodge. It does not have a fender tag, or build sheet. So i am doing a RestroMod. After having a 3000 GT VR4, i want my Challenger to handle like that. I dont want the outside to appear any different, besides slammed to the ground, with huge tires. I think i am going to go with a 5.7 this time. They seem to be getting cheaper by the day. I want twin turbos, and some sick suspension. I dont know how far i am going to set the engine back in it yet? I am starting to strip it down again. I will be ebaying the OEM stuff i dont want. I made a  attempt to sell them here, then i just got pissed off, and deleted my profile. I know custom cars dont sell well, i dont care. I think the Ebody market is out of control. I bought my car because i think 1970 Challenger R/Ts are the most bada$$ looking cars every made. I have thought this since i was a little kid. I like this site, and have learned a lot from it.

Welcome back to the site!  I don't recall seeing you or your car on here before, but it's good to see you're back and ready to start on the car.  Have you chosen a color scheme for the car?  It sounds like you're going with a similar build I plan to do with mine, minus running large wheels. (17"s here with a 340 that'll eventually get twin-turbocharged)
1973 Dodge Challenger......................The ongoing project. (00/----\00)
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo....The sunny day cruiser (RTBoost)
1990 Toyota Celica GT Liftback...........The new daily & winter driver.

Welcome Blitz,
Sounds like an interesting build.  Gotta go with what makes you happy. I would love for my Challenger to handle like a European sports car!! Good luck with the project and keeps us informed!!

I believe Cadiz is off of I 24, I drove past there yesterday on the way home from Helena Montana. 2100 mile drive. Resting up now to go up north of dallas next week.
