Unfortunatley I have to cancel my trip to the nats this year as my wife fell and broke her leg on Sunday.  I looked forward to mmeting you members for the first time and to see the members I met at carlilse last year.  Oh well have to try again next year.

Oh man that is so bummer of a deal, you wife is a hoot and knows her Mopars REAL well. Please tell her Pam and I send our best and hope she recovers quickly. Does this require a "local" cast or one of those from the toes to the hip variety? Poor dear, that is too bad, now you take good care of her Scott, ya hear? Sorry, I must admit, right now I can't remember her name, but she is a sweetie.  :2thumbs:

Sure thing Jim, her name is Kay.  She was wearing a pair of flip flops and slipped in the grass and the rest is history.  She has a soft cast now because of the swelling, next week she will get a hard cast ( hopefully a walking one) broke the small bone on her shin, if she doesn't hurt it anymore they won't have to do surgery and in 8 weeks she should be healed.  She felt so bad because we had to cancel as she does like to see her mopars!  Oh well all we are out is the registration as we cancelled our hotel and dog kennel fees.

we will try again for the Nats next year.

I'm in the same boat as you, as I have to wait until next year for the Nats. PLEASE tell the wife NO more dancing on table tops.  :poopoke:  :poopoke:  :poopoke:

Seriously, I hope she is OK. I hope to see you both next year.

I just got back from the Nats.  Almost a little disappointing this year.  It seems like there were less cars in the show area, and a lot less cars racing this year.  Most years, the staging lanes are packed with race cars - This year, there were only a few in each class.  Maybe it was the threat of rain (Fri), or the heat (Fri/Sat), or both.  Or maybe the economy and gas prices are taking a toll.

(Or maybe I'm just upset that I didn't find much in the swap meet this year).  ;)

Anyway - Hope everyone stayed cool and enjoyed the show.  I had to miss Brice/Heath this year - Were they any good?

Tom, I went to brice road friday and stayed in Heath for Saturday. It was a blast in Heath but not much action on brice road. The cops let lots of burnouts happen in Heath on the main street but very little on brice road. I booked my room next year to stay in Heath again as they seem to give everyone a warm welcome like there glad to see us.

I saw at least 80 burnouts in Heath and this is what I think about pics.  If you want to see what we saw, you have to have been there, or plan it for next year.  I have my rooms for next year too.

We stayed on Brice and the burn outs were ok-
I cant compare it to previous years since this was my first time going. I had fun with the new stroker motor in. Now I have to clean rubber off my quarters...

I'm sure to some extent all that you mentioned played a role in seemingly a "light" turnout. But the money grabber owner and his way of operation I'm afraid is also turning people away. The last couple times we have went down it has been just a drive down and then back home on Saturday since we live pretty close. But tell me, why is it necessary to charge $80.00 to drive my Chally into the show and park for the day, well, actually $40.00 to park and $40.00 for me and my wife to walk around and spend more money for food and refreshments?

That is spupid to charge that for a one day entrance to the Nats. I beleieve next year is a tribute to the Challenger and yes we do plan on attending, but it will probably be our last time there due to the above unjustified costs.  And when you drive in, your on your own, there is absolutely no organization whatsoever, you park anywhere you can. And if you happen to run late like I heard a couple guys talking who were parked in what they described as a "dust bowl", I guess you could just turn around and leave,...........but sorry, no refunds.

Mopar people are a dedicated bunch, we are already used to paying the highest prices for project cars and resto parts and we are pround of Mopars in general, but I feel prices / fees associated with the Nats. is BS. ?????
