The rim blow cap is a snap on.  It has a stud which only allows it to mount in one position.  It is plastic and can be brittle.  Don't use any type of edge to take it off.  In other words use a putty knife to lift up on it; not a screwdriver.  The screwdriver can leave a dent or crack in the plastic. You will want to slide the putty knife or whatever you use as far under as possible.  You want to lift at the prongs.  The outer plastic ring sits lower than the metal center.  If you lift at outer plastic the ring you will very likely break the outer plastic ring. I put a flat putty knife under the cap until it hits the prongs. I then slightly twist the knife as I lift; being careful not to put too much pressure on the plastic outer ring.

Here's an angle shot so you can see the attaching prongs. The alignment stud is at the 2 o'clock position.

 Thanks MEK, I checked out that link and that is not what my centre cap looks like. No screws in site, just a moulded round cap with DODGE imprinted on each side. It does turn slightly but I didn't want to use toooo much force. I will try the putty knife, thanks all for your help.

The Dodge Challenger cap SNAPS ON just like the Plymouth cap does. Tip: Put a couple layers of masking tape on the spokes to reduce the chance of slipping with the putty knife and scratching them. Be sure to use a stiff putty knife, not a thin flexible one.

Fill the rivet holes and stain it whatever color you want.

I like the rivet holes, and think it will be a impovement over the my very wornen orignal plastic wood wheel I had in the Challenger, just saying that the Grant wheel should have used a sealer, but I think it turned out pretty good with a little work. Maybe next find a rimblow cap with the "rivets" should fit right? Would look great with that wheel...

The rimblow caps will not fit the Tuff wheel horn mechanism without major modifications, then it probably still would not look right. There would be a gap between the center cap and the wheel because the horn mechanism is too tall. If you mount the rimblow cap in the same manner as it is mounted on the rimblow wheel, you would not have any horn function since the rimblow has the horn switch in the rim. The rimblow cap is for decoration only.

Here is what a rimblow cap looks like on a Tuff wheel horn mechanism.

I can't see it being a direct bolt on.  I would just get the crush can and do it right.

It sounds like you want to use a Grant wheel with the Challenger column. ??  In that case I would redrill the Grant wheel to fit the crush can or use the Grant adapter.

I'm kind of hoping that where Grant took the initiative to reproduce the center spokes that look correct maybe some Mopar restoration group will take that design and make an exact repro of the factory Rimblow, The hard parts done, the 3 spokes, all they have to do now is the simulated woodgrain for the front and the black plastic for the back, and you know what? in my own opinion, it doesn't even have to be a true rimblow with the switch, I'd be happy with the Grant wheel but with the plastic woodgrain on the front and the black on the back and a regular horn button for the middle, the spokes look great, but I can't do the wood with the rivets, just me, Dave
