440 Valve Cover Options, other than stock....
« on: July 29, 2007 - 01:07:25 AM »
Topping off my 440 I have a set of stock vavle covers. I don't trust them, I cant get the inside of that baffle clean enough, atleast where I would like it to be. I would love to change them out for somthing else.

What other options are out there that will fit in a Big block A-Body? My brother is running the Mopar Performance cast valve cover and neither one of us is impressed with them. What are other people running? I have been trying to do some homework on this, I like the Indy Cast Valve covers but from what I understand, a cast Valve cover on a cast head (516 closed chambers - Sand blasted clean) is the hardest set up to keep from leaking...this validates the problems my brother has on his 383 with the mopar covers...

I figured you guys would have some pretty good adivice, so PLEASE HELP ME! and Thanks!

I think I bought mine from Summit.  :dunno: These are a little lower profile than the cast valve covers.

another option is the cast alum from indy. You can leave them as cast, paint or polish them. Pete
