    E-body discovery, the heater box support

    Hey gang...
    Not what it's called, but there seems to be a rod/bracket that helps support the heater box cool air area to the cowl plenum.. Does anyone reproduce this thing or is it something for the parts/wanted section... Apparently, it was missing from my friend's '71 Challenger R/T...

    I believe you are referring to the j-bolt, I would call it,  with a slight crook in it that goes up in the r/h side of the fresh air plenum of the heater box.....nothing real special except it needs to be close in length & bend.

    Yes, that's exactly what I'm referring to.... So, it's referred to as a "j" hook.. That makes sense......  Guess I'm going to have to place a parts/wanted ad...

    I believe you have a a/c box? His non-a/c box doesn't have that bracket...

     :clueless:  I think there is a 6" or so "J" bolt that hooks on to the rim of the plellum pulling them tight. I can try and get pics if you still need 'em.
