Built my first Hemi this weekend
« on: July 30, 2007 - 12:06:45 AM »
I can't afford a real hemi for now so this is as close as I can get, lol. :roflsmiley:  Maybe I can get one when I finish my mechanical engineering degree.

Found it at wal-mart in the model section for $19.95.  I spent the afternoon putting it together.

Yea, it came already painted so, so I chose not to redo that part of it. Shouldn't it have a 7 blade clutch fan as well? :roflsmiley:

you may want to consider upgrading that 4-blade to a 7-blade fan with viscous style clutch. It will keep those plastic parts running much cooler.  :swaying:

Is that the kind that actually spins and makes engine sounds, or is it just a plain model?

No engine sounds, but you can turn the pulley on the crankshaft or the flywheel and you can see the belts move around the power steering and water pumps, and the alternator.  The starter bendix moves too when you turn the flywheel.

Well, to be honest, I've never assembled a 426 Hemi...lol. So I'll be looking to you for tech answers if and when I find one...

What scale is that?  Is it 1/6 or 1/12?  Looks nice!
