71fish,
I bought front and rear covers from Legandary at Carlisle last month. Got 10% off and they had them in the trailer. I was going to do them myself but I gave them to a friend in Jackson that does work on the side. They came out really nice. I'm the next town up from you. PM me and I'll give you his number.

A little bit of a thread steal here but - what does one do if they have the 71-74 seats and the foam needs replacing plus the frame needs repair or painting?

Others may know more than me, but if looks to me like all we can do is build up with new foam, either ourselves or by an upholstery shop.

You will just have to replace it by building it up or find good seat cores for the 72-74.

Did you have that trailer at carlisle?

Yes, but it had the old upholstery in it. I ordered the rear upholstery from Legandary when I was at Carlisle and got free shipping. I did that job a few weeks after Carlisle.

I don't know what I'm talking about, so I'll lay it all on you.  :poopoke:

On the front bucket seats, is the outer area that wraps around the back leather too? I would think that would be vinyl, and just the center part of the seat leather.  :dunno:

The leather option included leather inserts (centers) top and bottom on the front seats.  The rest of the seat was vinyl. The rear seats were all vinyl.  The leather option 70 & 71 rear seats were the same pattern as the 71 deluxe option.  I misunderstood.  I thought he was talking about the rear seat.

A little bit of a thread steal here but - what does one do if they have the 71-74 seats and the foam needs replacing plus the frame needs repair or painting?

Keep the original foam, if it is in decent shape, and build up behind it, trying to build up where it needs to be, while keeping the original shape of the foam.

I've done with frames where we have to completely strip it to a bare metal frame.  You can either....

A) Strip it down with a media blaster, weld what has to be welded, then repaint with black paint.

B) Just strip down with sand paper where the repairs are going to be, fix the problems, then paint with a black paint.
