Tough choice for sure!  I like the 15's   But the rubber is soooo much better on the 17's. I drove away from a 15" 68 camero.   I'd go with the 17's for performance. But the look of the 15's is undeniable! Pure muscle.  :dunno:   Mayby get another set of 17's in a more vintage style?     I searched for wheels for almost a year.Until Travis here showed me the ones I went with.  And even then... I'd really like some Budnik Gassers.   :money: 5K for hoops alone. Couldn't swing it $$.   Wheels sure do change the look of a car!   Good luck Tom.

If you went with the 15's I could use your 17's  :poopoke:

Tom,

I like the way your 17" wheels look. Given the way your boys liked to clean them at Carlisle(LOL), I would hate to see you change them out. In your other thread, I voted for 15" wheels, but that is just me. I grew up in an era where rubber ruled. If you could just have those rims in 15", then I would be buying.  :grinyes:  Keep in mind, I'm like what... a year or two younger than your Mother.   :scared:   :scared:   :scared:

like the 15"s, the 17"s are too much chrome for me.  Love the look of the car either way, great job

Thanks Guys,

Either way I have been working on the purchase of a new project for a while now.  I just finished working out the details and plan on starting a new resto thread in the future. :stirpot:

I will have a set of wheels for it too! Either way.  I think the "new" car will NEED bigger wheels to clear the brakes I plan on running front and rear.

I like the 15s more because they make the car look more like a competition car (road racer).  The 17s look okay, but it makes the car like like it is more of a "show car" than a competitor.

Thanks guys,

I can say this, putting the 15's on make the car feel like it is soft and plush.LOL  Can't tell I have KYB's on there anymore.  I kind of like it.  I can still annihilate the tires at will, i was worried that going to the taller 29"+ tire it would make the effective gear ratio be out of whack to rip them up.LOL

Took some rpms off on freeway cruising too.  Added 1.5" in ride height just like that.

I won't have it here at my house until the spring, but will only say it will be a 70---------.  I'm buying it from a member here.

Plan on a BB 5 spd if $$ allows  Some Big brakes too, like 14"front and big disks in the rear too.
