Steel Wheels

  I've decided to use the Mopar 15" Steel 'Police Car' Wheels on my Challenger; 15x7/245_60 tires up front, 15x8/275_60 tires out back. Having seen examples in various media, looked at several cars in person - many with trim rings, I soon settled on a configuration of just the wheel and either a 70 or 71 centercap.
  This 70 R/T SE will be purple/white R/T stripe/black vinyl top around a black and white salt and pepper interior so that's what the wheels and centercaps will be complementing. I like the dark body color on dark wheel image broken up by the white stripe and SE chrome and aluminum trim. Heck, even as i'm writing this i'm considering having the shop mask off the wheels and centercaps, then match them in Argent to the NOS tailpanel trim I have.
  One vote per member and no changes once a vote has been cast. I'll start by voting for Option 4 but it's a poll so what does everyone else think and why? Any pics of Mopars with these steelies would be great too

So are you looking at the sloted cop car wheels with bullit rallye wheel center caps???

Body colour with dog dish hubcaps.   If you are talking about rallye wheels I went with 71 style for my 70 just out of personal preference, not factory correct (although if you want to get anal, it is possible) but definitely a nostalgia/period correct thing to do. I just like the dark argent as it breaks the whole wheel up.

There's lots I haven't seen but if I understand you correctly, I've never seen cop steel wheels with Rally centercaps before, although I have thought about it.

Sorry, not to be prying, but why not go with Rally wheels at that point?   

IMO, I like the body color cop steel wheels with the doggy dish caps, with or without trim rings.

Not prying bud but i've had 15" Rallyes on my 70 A66 car, 14" Rallyes on my first purple car (that's a shot of it in my avatar), as well as my first 73 so i want to see how these steel wheels look and ride. I found a pic of the Mopar Action "Project Bold Beeper" which has the 15 x 8 wheels all the way around.

Fwiw 15 X 7 Chrome Magnum 500s are in the future but at first there'll be some setup using the cop car steelies

Well Russ, since you seem to really want some opinions here ya go.....the DK Argent steelies on the RR work for me, all business & goes well with the DK Green body, how that combo would look w/Purple I don't know......LT Green Challey doesn't speak to me, I see plenty of body color wheel/dog-dish I like, maybe its the light color or the trim rings...I like the DK Green machine posted earlier...As for the last pic. Purple with Purple wheels & centers I say no way...just looks wrong, kinda toy-like. Maybe I could handle if the centers were argent.   
  I know you have the steel wheels already but how about the center caps ?  You say that ultimately Magnums will go on. Sooo if you haven't already purchased rallye centers why not save up for a set of Magnums and be done with it?

I prefer the Magnums as you've suggested since, indeed, I haven't obtained the the centercaps yet. hmmmmmmmm  The shop did contact me over the weekend to pick up my brake booster assembly and wiper motor so I could send them off for resto work   Thanks Wade

personally I like the dark argent with the dark center like the Bold Beeper.  But I'd also maybe look for a set of Super Coupe centercaps, the chrome would accent the dark argent nicely, too.

I would like to have your opinion. My challenger is FE5 Bright red with white vinyl roof. I have steel fe5 painted wheels with dog dish hub cap and i plan to paint it glossy black with dog dish... i would like your opinion... glossy black painted steel wheel will fit with my white vinyl roof?

anyones have a picture of a car with white vinyl roof and black steel wheels ?
