Very sorry for everyone involved..  It is a little weird that homeland security decided there was no terror involved an hour and a half after it happened  :clueless:

The last thing I saw on it there are still 30 people missing

I saw one of the intros to the national news and I think there is a home video of it collapsing and maybe Homeland security saw that video, maybe looking for explosions or something and didn't see any.  Maybe also no one claimed responsibility for it or they didn't receive any threats which happens a lot with terrorists plots.  Just guessing....

:dunno: IMO if you look at these figures:
out of 104,348 high-traffic bridges, only 4 percentscored below 50.meaning there was only three percent worse than this brige in fatigue and stress factors.a customer at our parts counter on wednesday said he went over it about two hours before it went down and said when he was stuck in traffic on it he could see a large gaping hole in it and could see all the way down to the river.WTF,IMO they should have shut this bridge down long ago!!!!!!!!!!  :scared:  :scared:   :pullinghair:  :banghead:  :swear:  :swear:  :swear: I hate to say this but theres going to be law suits on this one.  :walkaway:  :2cents:

again my prayers go out to all the families of this terrible tradgedy............ :angelwings:  :(  :(

They knew this particular bridge wasn't up to snuff. Apparently 27% of bridges in the US are deemed "structurally deficient." On a scale of 0-9, this bridge was labeled a 4. They also had the video evidence and eyewitness reports.

I understand all that now folks but what I'm saying is the Gov'ment said there was no Terrorist activity involved even before the fires went out.  How the heck do they know so fast?

I saw on the news that there are approximately 27,000 bridges in the U.S. that are sub par to existing bridge technology and traffic loads put on them. There are 3 states that are known for having the most problems with their bridges not meeting standards.  2 of the 3 I recall they said were Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
