Power - Trans - shaft and rear..??

I got a 904 trans after my 340cui, and small driveshaft joins.  If I swap the trans to a 727..

Will the shaft be to long..
Will the yoke fit, - trans, and small join..

Problem is, NO TIRE SMOKE - I got a moth** Fu**** BIG -low stall converter, and aint sure the 904 will stand up to a hi-perf. 340 if I spend money on a high stall converter ...

The driveshaft will have to be shortened around 4 inches,dust cover on the bellhousing is different,filler tube is different and if you get a 727 yoke that uses the small joint you can use the 904 driveshaft. 904 stall converter......hum.......904's are more likely to crack their small converter hub so I would go up to the 727 and be done with it.

Without shortening it...

No ,you still have to shorten it, but you know that the other end will fit your rear end since it is the one you were already using.
