Cars in Barns Blog
« on: August 05, 2007 - 01:41:26 AM »
Well with the urging of my friend, I decided to start a blog about my adventures of finding cars in barns, yards, fields, etc.

I just have an introductory post up there now, but I'm going to start at the beginning of my journey, and work forwards to today through the next few days.  Posting pictures along with each post so you can know approximately where I've been and what I've seen.

I believe you can comment on each post, you don't have to register I believe.  Check it out, and drop a story of your own in there.

I love cars in barns stories.  About 15 years ago a local highschool kid told me about an AAR sitting in a field in North Georgia.  Sure enough, when I arrived on the scene the car was sitting out in this field just rotting away.  The original motor was long gone and the 340 in the car at the time needed a complete rebuild.

I spent a year or so restoring the car.  In the end I had a nice AAR that I sold about a year later.  I made a few bucks on the car, but considering the time and effort put into it I wish now I had held on to it.  OF course, that is the refrain of many here.  I wish I had held on to it.

Very cool story.  I've yet to find a AAR.

Second story up.

I love the story as well.  I started with mopars with a barn find.  Been there almost 20 years.  Owner put all new body parts from dodge on her and a year later the frame broke. 43000 original miles.  Frame needs full rebuild.

Very cool Challenger.  my 71 Challenger came out of a Barn, as did my 69 Charger.  I've only found one e-body vert in all my time, and that's a 70 Barracuda Vert... that was half a vert, sorta.  Long story.

Good luck

wally426ci,

I emailed the story of my mopars about 3 may 5 years ago to the original "Cars in Barns".  I think it's change hands since then.  Here's the link below.  Hopefully it works, if not go to page 113 of the mopars.  Ryan knows who owns the site now.  Who knows maybe it's him.  Either way, its good work.  I really enjoy reading those stories.

The original cars in barn site is run by a friend of mine.  He has been very ill the past few years and has been unable to keep it updated.

It was suppose to be sold to "musclecarfinders.com" but I guess the fact that they would try and buy every car that was sent to them killed the deal.
