its popped in there just like a tail light. pushing on the end of it one way should release it. just little metal tangs hold it in there.

Give it a good tug. Try back and forth motions(not to sound kinky).  :eek7:

Ok Mike, only you would say "not to sound kinky" but I will give it a tug.  Thanks.

I got the gauge cluster out.

1) Do they look like they are in good shape?

2) How should I proceed to restore them?

3) How much will it cost to restore the clock or is something that I can do myself?

The inexpensive route for freshening up the gauges is the decal kit for Performance car graphics.. Here's how I restored my buddy's gauges for his '71 Chally...

Your gauges look in good shape. You can polish the lens yourself if it is dulled. I sent my clock out to Performance car graphics for a quartz conversion. It was something like $175, but I had the hands painted too. I know there are kits out there for about $100 less if you want to do it yourself as far as the quartz conversion goes.

Thanks Mike and Hemi for the info.  I have the lens restorer to clean the lens.  I will send the clock away to have the quartz installed.

Putting the quartz clock conversion in really isn't all that hard.  I think the kit cost $65 a few years ago and it came with adequate instructions.  It only is the movement, so if you need the face redone, there are the decals or the restoration places.  If you're brave enough to pull the rallye dash out, the clock would be a piece of cake.

On cleaning the lens: a soldering pencil can be used to melt and ease off the plastic tangs that hold on the metal around the fuel and temp guages.  Try to pile up the plastic in the center of each protrusion so you have something to melt back down to put it together again. Meguires plastic polish worked nicely on ours.

Thanks FY1Cuda.  I'll try doing the clock myself.

Yup - shop smart and you can find it for around $50 now. It is pretty easy. You can buy white or black decals for the guage faces for around $30 also. The needles come off easy most of the time.
